Who does not dream of a wardrobe that has clothes by high fashion clothing brands like Chanel, Prada, Versace, and Dior, jostling for space? When you step out each day you would definitely want to put your best fashioned foot forward. Many claim to be ignorant to the beneficial affects that high fashion clothes can have on one's mood, but there is something definitely uplifting about wearing designer clothing. Haute Couture is the more common name used for the term, high fashion. Derived from the French expression for high dressmaking, haute couture refers to the process by which exclusive custom fit clothing is designed for a customer. The clothes are made to order, and dictate the use of high quality fabric, hand sewn by seamstresses who have had years of experience. In France, the term haute couture can be used only by fashion design houses that meet certain requirements and standards. However, world over the term is used to refer to all design houses that produce high fashion clothing.

Wearing high fashion clothing usually means that you will end up spending through your nose. Depending on which fashion designer has designed your apparel and the effort that has gone into the costume, the price of a single dress can go up to thousands of dollars. The high pricing is for the service you receive, the workmanship on the clothes, the uniqueness of the design, and the materials used. Since these high fashion clothes often set the fashion trends, most fashion aficionados find themselves in a situation of not being able to afford the clothes. So how do you go about the process of finding a high fashion clothing item or even recreating one? We tell you how.

Fashion Tips

Now, who doesn't love gorgeously, flowing or short and fitting dresses? Florals, animal prints or solids, dresses have always wooed women of all age groups! Use these fashion tips to dress as per your body shape.

Pear Shape: Pear shaped women should avoid shift dresses. These tend to cling to the body. Choose dresses that accentuate the upper area of the body to draw attention away from the lower area.

Apple Shape: Choose dresses that have interesting necklines. This will pull the attention away from the stomach area. Avoid clingy fabrics for the upper body.

Boyish/Athletic Shape: You can safely wear dresses with loads of ruffles and frills. Look for typical feminine dresses that increase the overall volume of the body shape.

Hourglass Shape: Need I say again that any kind of dress will suit such a figure. You can safely opt for fitting or flowing dresses.

Goth Fashion

For those who are newbies to Gothic fashion, this is a kind of clothing style that is worn by both the sexes that belong to the Goth Subculture. Goth sub culture originated in the United Kingdom and is found in many countries. People who belong to the Goth culture may or may not share similar tastes in music and fashion. Fashion tastes of the Goth culture can range from being punk, medieval, it can include clothes that are from the Renaissance culture or can even be considered androgynous.

Spiky hair and black nails and what not! Gothic fashion has always been regarded as bizarre. This culture meant to express various things through fashion. In other words, Gothic fashion meant a kind of freedom and sexual liberation. It also meant making an individual statement and sport a ‘don’t care attitude’ about what the society would probably think about those who follow Gothic fashion. Gothic fashion is about being liberal about one’s views on various aspects of life.

The most distinguishable factor about Gothic fashion is the use of the color black as mentioned earlier. This is often co-ordinated with bold colors. Gothic fashion is not completely anti-life just because black makes a strong statement. Although this has invited criticism, Goths believe that death is something that cannot be ignored. They believe this is also a part of our existence and it cannot be overlooked. This is probably why when women wear black eye shadow and clothing it can seem to be a way of expressing grief to people, who do not really know the beliefs behind Gothic fashion.

Gothic fashion involves clothes that are in wild hues and use silhouettes that bring focus to one area of the body such as corsets or tight sleeves. The idea is to attract attention! There are various cultures that fall under the main Goth subculture such as the Victorian Goth, Goth Punk, Romantic Goth etc. Flowing skirts, stylish sweeping dresses, hats and canes for men all form a part of Gothic fashion. Gothic fashion always believes in an expression of yourself no matter what the gender may be or where you may come from. Gothic fashion has a symbolism, which is not known to everybody though many love to follow this route. Dark eyeliner, tight jeans, chains and studs, powdered and white faces, black nails, pants with ripped edges all form a part of Gothic fashion. Tattoos also were used elaborately to make a style statement.

Girls also wear heavy slacks. Gas station jackets are often thrown over colorful tees. Many girls who wish to follow Emo fashion also prefer baggy pants and short tees worn with hemp jewelry. Studded belts are often worn with jeans and these belts come with large buckles. Footwear includes canvas sneakers or shoes in black. Skate shoes are also a part of Emo fashion.

V-neck sweaters are also a part of Emo clothing. These are worn short so that the shirt worn underneath peeps out from below. Emo girls and boys also wear characteristic horn-rimmed glasses. Often, such young girls and boys carry backpacks that are slung across their shoulder. This is also like a trademark of Emo fashion.

People who associate themselves with Emo fashion also sport some typical hairdos that are easily distinguishable as Emo. Emo hairstyles are quite funky in their overall appeal. Spiky hair with some bold dashes of color with loads of highlight and lowlights are some of the current modern styles of Emo fashion. Short dyed black hair with straight side swept bangs is also one of the style statements.

People who belong to the Emo subculture are characterized by their behavior, which includes being emotional and very shy in nature. It is noted that people who belong to this group also have suicidal tendencies. Therefore, one can notice certain types of criticism associated with this culture.

Emo Clothing Stores

When I first saw photographs that represented Emo fashion, what I personally liked about it was the don’t-care-attitude! Emo clothing has its own very unique distinctive style. Guys and girls who belong to Emo culture can be easily noticed due to their attire. The term Emo, has actually evolved from a particular genre of music used to indicate music that goes towards hard punk. Over the years, Emo was used to denote more than just a style of music. It became a culture in itself. This subculture is now defined not only by music but also by the clothing worn.

Emo fashion is followed by people who wish to defy the traditional norms of the society. A person who belongs to this subculture would define his/her style, which is not always as per the traditional clothing worn by people. Therefore, Emo clothing and fashion is all about developing one’s individual look. This may sometimes make it difficult to pinpoint what is truly Emo, however, there are many stores that specifically cater to Emo clothing. If you are wondering how to dress Emo, here are some fashion ideas for Emo attire.

Emos

Emo hairstyles are one of the more popular hairstyles among teens these days. The whole concept of this teen hairstyle is to look different. In general, the emo hairstyle can be described as having long, dyed black and straightened fringes which are brushed to one side of the face covering one eye or sometimes both the eyes. It has also been observed that emos (people who sport emo culture) like the color black. They dye their hair black and dress in black, which represents an emotional or showy attitude.

Short emo haircuts have become fashionable, as they are very manageable and versatile. Getting a short emo haircut is easy, if you have straight hair. Your hairstylist can tell you what emo hairstyle will suit you the best according to your features, personality and style.

Emo Fashion For Girls

Emo fashion has also evolved with time. There can no particular definition of this as well, but there are certain characteristics that can define Emo fashion. What has been this fascination for Emo fashion? Is it the wackiness or the weird outlook that is found very appealing to many? Of course, this is also a matter of personal opinion. Emo boys and gals have always tried to be unique in their own special way. There are no special rules as far as Emo fashion goes. The ‘dress code’ of being Emo is all about being comfortable in what you are wearing. So, how would one distinguish a true Emo guy or gal?

Though most people would scoff at the Emo look, I personally do like the cheesy and don’t-care-attitude of this ‘culture’! Skinny jeans with hoodies look fab as a representation of the Emo group. Jeans must be tight to show that you are truly Emo but make sure you can carry it off as well. The typical emotional punk movement may not really be considered fashionable by many but then the term fashion means differently to different people. Emo girls have dyed hair with asymmetrical lines and sometimes one can find nerdy glasses perched on their nose as well. A black t-shirt worn with a hooded jacket also works well. Though jackets are not completely Emo, you can go in for a lightweight kind. Loads of layering for Emo guys and girls is also important. Guys can go in for zany T-shirts worn with studded belts and fingerless gloves. Accessories in Emo fashion are aplenty ranging from hemp necklaces or tote bags. Body piercing is also considered to be very Emo! A little strange to some, but patterned knee high socks are also part of this category. Fishnet stockings worn with short skirts can work well for girls. To sport some Emo style makeup, get yourself thick pencil eyeliner and draw a thick line in one swipe. Girls need to use some clear lip gloss on their lips to complete the look. Black is the color for the nails as well, and boys, this also includes you. I am sure by now you would be thinking the Emo look is definitely taking a bizarre turn. Boys can also go in for messenger style bags to go with their skinny leg jeans. Slogans on Tees are quite common in Emo fashion. Canvas shoes and old weather beaten shoes complete the Emo look!

Punk Fashion

Punk fashion, like many other fashions, is closely connected with a particular type of music. When punk fashion first arrived on the scene, it was in order to show defiance to the heavily made up look that existed in mainstream music. The music scene in the 70’s was distinguished by heavy makeup and elaborate clothes, with equally difficult to manage hair styles. The original punk rockers all wore torn clothes and hair worn purposefully unkempt and short.
Today, punk fashion has changed a lot from when it first started, but it still remains easily identifiable. There is a very active punk community, and they form a subgroup all of their own. They have their own music in addition to style of dressing. Punks also wear very distinctive hairstyles and make up. They can sometimes be confessed with Goth or Emo, but this is because the very nature of this subculture is to not conform to rules of society.
In the very beginning, punks used to wear jeans and T-shirts that were torn on purpose and which had offensive images and statements on them. These were a very startling departure from the expensive clothes that mainstream people used to buy in order to go to a disco or musical event. The torn jeans or net leggings that punks wore were a deliberate statement against the materialism of the age. Even the heavy shoes they wore set them apart from other people.

Emo Clothes

Emo clothing can never be complete without hoodies. Hooded tops are a characteristic feature of Emo clothing. These often come with printed designs or loud graphics. Tight jeans are also a part of Emo clothing. Girls as well guys also sport these with short sleeved tight T-shirts. The layered look is also a part of Emo clothing. Short sleeved colorful tees can be worn over long sleeved Tees. These Tees are either in solid colors or zany prints. Girls also wear scarves with their outfits. For Emo clothing, scarves are used to create a fashionable statement and these are often in knits in solid colors or stripes.
